Use case

How to build a tutoring app with AI

A tutoring app needs to connect a student to the right time slot with the right tutor, and keep track of who is paid up. GrowApps builds that from a description of your subjects and how lessons are booked, with a real schedule, a student record and a live app a parent or student can use the same day.

What to include

The screens a tutoring app needs.

  • A subject or tutor list with availability
  • A lesson booking screen with a calendar of open slots
  • A student profile showing upcoming and past lessons
  • A simple progress note or homework field per lesson
  • A billing screen for packages or per lesson payment

Try it yourself

This is a realistic starting prompt, not a placeholder. Change the names, numbers and details to your own before you use it.

Build a tutoring app for my maths tutoring business. List 3 subjects: GCSE maths, A level maths and university entrance prep, each with a price per hour. Let a parent book a 1 hour slot from my weekly availability, see upcoming and past lessons for their child, and pay per lesson or buy a 10 lesson package at a discount. Give me a screen to add a short progress note after each lesson.

What GrowApps sets up

The parts you would otherwise wire up by hand.

Sign in for parents or students, an account for you as tutor

Bookings, progress notes and billing all need to be tied to a real account, on both sides.

A lessons and students database

Availability, bookings and progress notes are stored per student, so history is there when you need it.

Payments

Stripe can handle per lesson charges or a discounted lesson package, and keep track of what has been paid.

Hosting

The app is live at a shareable link the moment the preview is ready, so parents can book without installing anything first.

A Play Store bundle

If you want an installable app, GrowApps produces the signed Android App Bundle and the Publish area guides Play Console.

Honest limits

What a first build will not get right.

A booking calendar, student profiles and per lesson billing are a normal first build. Video calling built directly into the app, rather than linking out to a video tool you already use, is a heavier feature and usually takes more rounds to get right. Multiple tutors each with their own calendar and their own students is doable but is a bigger structure than one tutor's schedule, plan for a second pass once the core booking flow works.

Cost

What building this costs in credits.

A first build like this uses about 4 credits on average. New accounts get starter credits plus 1 free credit a day, up to 10 a month, no card required. Standard is 20 US dollars a month for 20 credits, Pro is 200 a month for 300, and unused credits roll over for a month.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask before building a tutoring app.

Can parents book and pay for lessons in the same app?

Yes. Booking and payment can both live in the app, so a parent picks a slot and pays for it in one flow.

Can I keep a private progress note for each student?

Yes. A note field per lesson can be added, visible to you and, if you choose, to the parent.

Does this work if I have more than one tutor?

It can, though multiple tutors each with their own calendar is more involved than a single tutor's schedule, so it usually takes a bit more back and forth to set up correctly.

Describe your tutoring app and see it built.

GrowApps plans it, writes the Flutter code and gives you a live preview the same day.
